What if one tactical option puts you against mechs that can be salvaged for better loot than the other? Do you give the captured spy to your employer as promised or sell him back? Maybe you decide to side with the folks you’ve just fought because you learned they are not who you thought they are. Even more, many of them have branching choices. Yes, most “flashpoints” are actually chains of missions. Or you have to fight the next mission right away, without time for repairs. Or you have restrictions on your troops’ weight. There are always “unexpected” reinforcements, various special conditions – like in one “flashpoint” you can choose pilots, but mechs are predefined. Both in terms of dialogues that explore political intricacies of the lore (sometimes introducing interesting characters), and challenges that often have far more nuance than ordinary tasks. However, the missions themselves are well written. Which looks especially funny when our mercenary squad arrives in the nick of time, regardless of how many days left. The time limit for those “flashpoints” (those that have one) look quite arbitrary. And the very first large DLC added “flashpoints”… which are not exactly what I had in mind. Even if description told about overwhelming assault or any other urging matters – you could wait any amount of time in orbit before taking the job. One of the things that I felt to be unnatural in the base game was that contracts never expire. Each adding not only new mechs and equipment but also various missions and even mini-campaigns. Three DLCs: Flashpoint, Urban Warfare, and Heavy Metal. Well, now for the BattleTech Season Pass you know. With Season Passes there is additional distrust, as you don’t even know what exactly is going to be included. Sometimes the question arises if it was even necessary to cut some things due to lack of time for polish or everything was made purely to sell some things twice. Though not without reasons – too many publishers abuse DLCs, asking too much money for too little experience. These days players too often treat additional downloadable content with suspicion.

The States’ evidence against Richard Wanke is circumstantial. All the time delay did was punish Wanke extra-judicially and diminish his chances of defending himself as some of the evidence to support his defense vanished over time. Bruscato had discovered no new incriminating evidence against Richard Wanke in April 2014 when he charged him. Cold-case crimes are generally charged after new evidence comes to light incriminating a suspect. Bruscato charged him in 2014, after his office predecessor, Phil Nicolosi, did not in 2008. Just as Richard Wanke was due to be released from prison in 2014, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney, Joseph Bruscato, then charged him with the Clark murder. Meantime, the Clark murder investigation was listed as an “unsolved”, cold-case murder on the Rockford Police website. It instead used prison staff to vigorously harass and investigate him during his prison term. 2008 – April 2014, Wanke was in state prison serving time for the theft of a laptop computer (an extended-term sentence the state ensured he got in 2008), and the State took it’s sweet time extending it’s investigation. It could have charged him earlier but deliberately chose to hold off doing so. Winnebago County did not charge Richard Wanke with Clark’s murder until April 2014. The legal bar tends to prosecute those cases more zealously and it’s difficult to find attorneys willing to represent those clients. The legal community and the courts tend in those instances not to be impartial. It is particularly impossible for those charged with the murder of a police officer, judge, or local attorney. It’s hard for defendants in high-profile and sensational cases to get a fair trial. Every alternative suspect police find will then later become a reasonable doubt for their case at trial. The public thinks police thoroughly investigate all leads, but once they have a person in custody police seldom investigate alternatives, because they know that they will have to disclose that information to defense attorneys. Single-minded police investigations are not unusual. The police instead picked Richard Wanke up by 5pm on February 6, 2008, and then spent the rest of their investigation trying to connect him and any of his friends to attorney Clark’s murder. His name was mentioned to police as a client who may have been unhappy with Clark, and that sufficed for the police to not question or suspect anyone else associated with attorney Clark his family, his friends, his neighbors, his business associates, and any other unhappy clients he may have had. The evidence at the murder scene did not incriminate Richard Wanke or even place him there. The police quickly within hours focused solely on a client of Clark’s, Richard Wanke, as the shooter. Some of us saw and experienced the investigation first-hand and know how deficient it was and how it’s conclusions remain unsupported. We question the substance and conduct of the Rockford Police investigation into the murder of attorney Greg Clark. 2008 murder and were influenced and convinced by the details of the media storm that followed it. Most people to this day recall Clark’s Feb. Clark’s death in a quiet up-scale residential neighborhood shocked local attorneys, created widespread public fear and speculation and made regional and national news for months. Police canvassed his neighborhood afterward and gathered reports of unknown individuals and vehicles seen entering and leaving his residential subdivision and area on the day and weeks before his murder but found no weapon, DNA, fingerprints, or any other forensic evidence at the murder scene to identify who shot attoney Clark or whether it was one person or two. Some of the cases he handled, such as divorce or conflict cases could be contentious, but he did not appear to have known enemies.Ĭlark’s sensational and violent death was not witnessed. He was a long-time general practice attorney in a small firm with his son-in-law. Greg Clark was not an outspoken or premiere attorney in Rockford. 60 year old Greg Clark was expertly shot 3 times in the back outside his home in the middle of a blizzard while he used a snowblower to clear his sidewalk. The February 6, 2008, murder of Attorney Gregory Clark is the highest-profile, memorable murder case in Rockford, IL and in Winnebago County, IL. Mac Internet Security X9 provides good antivirus protection against the latest threats. Intego is a veteran antivirus provider which has been defending Macs for well over two decades now, so if there’s any software maker that knows what kind of security Apple machines need, it’s this company. Not always rated by independent test labs Read our full Bitdefender Antivirus review Note that as even though this is standalone Mac antivirus, you can also get protection for your Mac as part of Bitdefender Total Security, the firm’s flagship security suite (which covers Macs, Android, and iOS devices, plus Windows PCs – up to 10 devices in total). If you’re concerned about viruses and the other nastiness floating around on the internet, Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac is the best software for Macs. Still, it’s certainly better than nothing and handy in a pinch. Time Machine protection is a valuable addition, too, as an extra safety net to keep backups safe from ransomware attacks.A further nifty extra is the integration of Bitdefender VPN, although that said, the data allowance here is limited to 200MB daily, which is very little – so it’s only good for very occasional use. That helps defend against the possibility of you transmitting a Windows virus to your friends or family who might have Windows 10 PCs. That includes multi-layer ransomware protection, solid anti-phishing capabilities, and very robust AI-powered web browser protection delivered via an extension.īitdefender Antivirus for Mac also offers an adware blocker and is a good performer when it comes to scanning and picking up on Windows PC malware. It’s not just about core antivirus defenses, though, because Bitdefender also lays claim to a broad set of features. And, while you're at it, be sure to invest in the best Mac VPN as well. To help you, we found the best Mac antivirus software specifically designed to protect Apple systems and gathered them all on this list – whether you're looking for a paid version or a free one. We've tested many of the best antivirus apps on the market, so we know which ones are the absolute tops. Heck, even a one of the best free options is better than nothing. After all, Apple products aren't cheap, and you don't want to have something pricey be crippled by a cyberattack. You will need Mac-specific antivirus software designed to work with the unique demands of macOS to protect that new Mac. However, malicious programs targeting Macs and MacBook Pros have not only become increasingly common, but also more potent. MacOS is Unix-based, which is sandboxed, so it can be challenging for viruses to do any real damage. There’s an enormous potential target out there that is irresistible to hackers and cybercriminals, considering the sheer amount of Mac and MacBook owners around the world. In addition they are not always associated with shadowing. These stones may be difficult to detect due to surrounding echogenic renal sinus fat, mesenteric fat, or bowel. The twinkling sign is a color Doppler artifact that appears as a rapidly alternating mixture of red and blue Doppler signals distal to strongly reflective granular surfaces, such as found on urinary stones. The addition of color Doppler revealed a twinkling sign posterior to the focus, as well as a ureteral jet from the right ureter (Fig. The bladder was also examined, which revealed a non-shadowing, hyperechoic focus at the left ureterovesicular junction (UVJ) (Fig. A focused bedside ultrasound was performed by the emergency physician using a 5–2 MHz curvilinear array transducer (Model HD11XE, Philips, Andover, MA), which revealed mild left hydronephrosis (Fig. The patient’s urine beta-hCG was negative and urinalysis showed no pyuria but was positive for blood. The patient had normal vital signs, and physical examination was remarkable only for mild left costovertebral angle tenderness. She denied any recent lifting or trauma, dysuria, hematuria, frequency, urgency, vaginal bleeding, or vaginal discharge. The patient had no significant past medical, surgical, or family history, and no history of similar pains in the past. The pain was described as sharp and intermittent, radiating to the left-lower quadrant of the abdomen, and was associated with nausea and vomiting. The major limitation of our study was that the number of the subjects were small.A 43-year-old female presented to the emergency department (ED) complaining of acute left flank pain for 1 day. Different grades of twinkling artifact on color Doppler ultrasonography were evoked depending on the biochemical composition of renal stones and different central frequencies of transducers. The plastic ball produced grade 1 artifact on L10-5, and grade 0 on other transducers. Type B stone produced grade 1 artifact on all transducers type C stone produced grade 0 artifact on C4-2, grade 2 on C7-4, and grade 1 on L7-4, and L10-5. Type A stone produced grade 1 artifact on C4-2, grade 2 on C7-4 and grade 3 on L7-4 and L10-5. The size of stones ranged from 6 to 10 mm (mean=8 mm). Each artifact was graded by two independent observers, and if there was interobserver difference, the consensus was reached. Color Doppler gain was set to the point just below the threshold for color noise. Grading of twinkling artifact was done: 0=absent, 1=present but occupying less than half of a stone, 3=occupying the entire stone and 2=between 1 and 3. All stones were placed in a depth of between 3 and 4 cm in an agar plate. Three types of renal stones (A=90% calcium oxalate +10% calcium hydrogen phosphate, B=50% calcium oxalate +5% calcium hydrogen phosphate +45% ammonium urate, and C=55% urate 35% calcium oxalate +5% ammonium urater +5% calcium hydrogen phosphate) removed from the subjects and one artificially made plastic-ball (D) were examined in vitro with color Doppler ultrasonography. To evaluate the relationship between the degree of twinkling artifact generated on color Doppler sonography and the biochemical composition of renal stones and different central frequencies of transducers. The early access beta features three classes to choose from-Barbarian, Sorcerer, and Rogue-while the open beta will include all five of the game's launch classes, adding Druid and Necromancer to the mix. The beta includes all of the game's first Act and will allow players to reach a max level of 25. Thankfully, this is just an early access beta and not the full Diablo IV launch, so here's hoping Blizzard can learn from its beta testing periods and better prepare for Diablo IV's official release on June 6, 2023.įor those who do manage to battle their way past the Diablo IV beta's dreaded queue boss, a number of exclusive titles and an adorable wolf pup backpack that will carry forward into the full game await those who manage to reach certain milestones in the beta. The entire experience is already invoking memories of Diablo III's infamous 2012 launch and the dreaded "Error 37" message that prevented eager players from accessing the game for an extended period. Fans eager to play Diablo IV's beta will have to overcome some lengthy queue times. Many players on Reddit have reported having the game crash or being disconnected mid-session, causing them to be kicked back to the back of the queue. Players aren't particularly happy about the situation, with some on Twitter noting that paying for the privilege of the early access beta, only for it to not be working as intended, is disappointing. GameCube to PC Adapters: Hit Box GCA or Mayflash, switch on the back of the adapter set to "PC." Here's a guide to setting up your controller for the game on Steam. With its growing popularity, more players are starting to get into Rivals of Aether, including many Smash Box players. *That's right: 1400 reviews for just the Wii version alone. And so most Just Dance fans stuck with the Wii and never bothered with the Wii U. The Wii U wasn't made for them (or me) with the pointless tablet. Just Dance got its start on Wii, and folks who like things like Just Dance loved the Wii and bought them in droves. In fact the sales of JD 2020 justify a Wii version of JD 2021, if anything. In short, Wii owners are still willing to purchase good Wii games (and JD on Wii with a Wiimote has ALWAYS been better than JD on Xbox or PS3). In fact, JD 2020 for Wii is second only to the Switch version in sales (the Wii version has outsold the PS4 and XBOne versions) and has over 1400 reviews (!!!!) on Amazon right now.* This Wii game has sold more physical units than any Wii U game since 2017. JD 2019 on the Wii, however, outsold it just as it has done since the first version of JD for the Wii U and JD2019 on Wii was profitable for Ubisoft. It still would've been nice to have one last Wii U release.īecause JD 2019 for Wii U sold less than 1000 copies, making it a loss for Ubisoft. But in my opinion, 2020 should've made it onto the console. Wario's Woods was the last NES game, released in 1994. The important data point for proving any of this is the year the last game for each console was released. If there are Just Dance titles after 2020, then I really don't think that these skipping the Wii U would harm anything. The criteria has two points: Released simultaneously on console x and console x+2. That's somewhat respectable, especially since there's evidence to suggest the Wii U version received only one print run. I can understand why 360 didn't get 2020 (had the absolute lowest sales on any Just Dance title in North America) and PS3 was losing traction for Just Dance even after 2016 but the Wii U version of 2019 still pushed out over 100,000 units when the console was already long since discontinued. The PS3 version of 2018 didn't break above 70,000. By comparison, 2019 has sold at least 100 thousand units in the Wii U. The PS3 versions have consistently been the lowest sellers across the board, prompting 2018 to be the very final Just Dance title on the system. Even a few spinoffs have sold somewhat higher on Wii U than the Wii. Contrary to the popular belief, the Wii U versions of Just Dance have always sold well and consistently above the PS4 and Xbox One versions since Just Dance 2014 and until 2018. This part however isn't the best point of contention. The other factor is that Ubisoft may have been concerned about the game's success from a sales standpoint. Nintendo was also no longer making these discs. Master System/Saturn - last Master System games released 1991 (Genesis ports in EU and Brazil through 1998) Saturn released 1995.There hasn't been a reason stated why it didn't make it to Wii U but you can make a few educated guesses as to why.Įven Axiom Verge had issues being released physically due to retail in the States allegedly not even wanting to have to stock another Wii U title. They may not have been simultaneously, but in the same year. You're right for the modern era, but Atari consoles were supported for a very long time. Sometimes, something as simple as an introduction can remind us that, as a civilization, we’ve come so very far but that we’ve still so much further to go. They can be gory, scary, violent, sad, diverting, joyful, and therapeutic. Games can be a lot of things to a lot of different people. It’s his daughter, and she’s going where he never could, to the furthest edges of exploration.Ĭhristopher Tin’s masterful “Sogno di Volare,” the main theme for Civilization VI, proudly calls out that “man will be lifted by his own creation, just like birds, towards the sky, filling the universe with wonder and glory.” But, as the bullets tear through his cockpit, the camera pans down to show his picture pinned to console in front of an astronaut. It seems he’s slain in the skies over Europe during World War II. In fact, he himself does not get to see the end of the journey. Perhaps this is why Bean does not get to answer the question posed by his daughter. He invites us to be the kind of leader who not only lights the torch on the monument but also dons winged hussar armor and rides towards a hail of bullets. In fact, he relishes both and invites us to do the same. He is equally unafraid of the journey and the moment. His journey is one that marries exploration, science, violence, and creation. Between this and Kholat, Sean Bean is proving to be pretty. Instead, Bean’s journey through time shows a different kind of Civilization. Mathematics unlocks siege engines, civil service unlocks pikemen, and nuclear fusion unlocks giant death robots. Most of the research and discovery is always geared towards a military application. I’ve lamented, to anyone who will listen, that Civilization has always felt odd. Such an immortal might easily become a warmonger. But what if you were literally the same? What if you’re an immortal, guiding your people subtly and not so subtly through the currents of time, geopolitics, exploration, and discovery? Of course, you play the same leader from beginning to end, the game has never shied from that. Seeing Sean Bean’s character go from a simple man in ancient times, to an explorer in China, to an early pilot, and then seeing his daughter take to outer space almost canonizes a strange thing I’ve always thought about Civilization. Or at least, that’s how it begins for one man and his family. But hearing narrator Sean Bean talk about making another. “And how will we know when we get there?” when trying to win a Civilization VI game by getting to Mars before anyone else claims victory. We must adapt and press forward if we are to see our journey’s end.” “The currents before us are ever changing. There’s no award for Cinematic of the Year or Best Cutscene but indulge me and you’ll see why this one stands out… It’s been floating around as “launch trailer” but it’s so much more than that. It’s short, light on words but deep on meaning. It has already undergone a massive patch – titled the “ Fall 2016 Update” – which adds DirectX 12 support, new maps, a new scenario, and a long list of tweaks and fixes.Civilization VI has the most beautiful and stirring opening of any game. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI recently won the Best Strategy Game category at The Game Awards 2016. For VI the role has fallen on Sean Bean, who does a tremendous job at making each sentence sound grand. This is the first new video since the game’s launch and, hopefully, there are more waiting in their hard drives. Will Civilization VI stand the test of time. Since there isn’t any behind-the-scenes featurette accompanying Civilization VI, it’s nice to see Firaxis and 2K releasing more of such content, regardless of how bite-sized they may be. Oh, and how he feels about his character dying – again. And then, almost four minutes into the video explaining this, they. It isn’t going to be as insightful as a discussion panel, but it does get into his thoughts on working with games. Civilization 6's developers recently outlined what's coming in its next free update, including a host of patches and tweaks. In Civ6, there are basically only the following units: Anti-city Siege. The latest behind-the-scenes video features a short one-on-one with Sean Bean himself. Civ6 comes in at 2nd place, pretty good music and Sean Bean is pretty decent too. There’s just something soothing about having King Regis ( Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV) and Lord Eddard Stark ( Game of Thrones) peering from the heavens at your own little empire. The Hollywood star lends his voice all throughout the game, from inspirational spiels at loading screens to quoting Mark Twain and Monty Python in the technology tree. In Civilization VI, Sean Bean lives forever. |
